Legend and I had a hot and fun weekend sniffing at the Licking River scent trial. We earned 6 Qualifying advanced level Qs (5 with placements). We also finished his advanced buried title. -Janet

Legend earns new titles in scentwork
This past weekend Legend was a star at the Licking River scent trial in a fairgrounds. This was only his second and third trial days ever. He sniffed correctly in 9 out of 10 searches and earned 3 novice titles.
New Nosework Title

Saju NW1
D’Saju (DD litter) earned his NW1 title in April 2015, doing a beautiful job on all 4 searches. One of the judges was an Iraq dog-handler veteran who just *had* to say hello to Saju once we finished our last search for the day. The judge was quite taken with his classic LDS good looks and great work ethic.
We are now training for the NW2!

Nosework first!
Congrats to Karen Shivers and her Pi daughter StoneFox Loup Du Soleil – First Master Level Title in United Nosework program!!
“Soleil” is now UN2, MNC, PT5, URO1 StoneFox Loup Du Soleil!!! She is the first dog to have any Master level title in the United Nosework program. She earned her Superior Nosework Container and her Master Nosework Container titles this last weekend.
Saju passed all 3 ORTs
Saju passed all 3 of his Odor Recognition Tests (birch, anise, and clove) early this year. His birch test was the 2nd fastest of the day of 80 dogs, and his other two tests were also very quick and sure.
We couldn’t attend classes last year, we just worked on our own, so I was extra happy with his first dog-sport achievement.
